Learning what works and doesn't work in Internet marketing top 5 list

Learning what works Top 5 Things that don't and Top five things that Do

I'm always looking for what works. Starving for it if you will. And have heard a lot of promises that just haven't added up. I don't want to spend my time working on things that don't produce. I want to get my adsense account fired up and going all the time, with clicks But the only way to do that is to write content that people want to read about over and over.

I've been studying for a while, what actually works to build traffic to your website, create loyal brand customers, and monetize your website. Which is the whole point isn't it. To get a little bit back for everything you give out. And there are a lot of promises made out there.
To teach you this and that, and this will be your results. I've searched youtube, udemy, google, I've taken courses I've read books, taken courses online, you name it I've done it. First up is a list of what doesn't work and why-my next list after that will list what works and why. Its a frustrating process of trial and error, studying courses that last hours only to come back to the basics of what works.

1)UDEMY-I love Udemy but their courses make a lot of promises. A lot, and I've only found them to be lukewarm. The problem: total concentration for one, and some of the instructors are from overseas. I appreciate their need to make a buck, but it might be  a good idea to learn the language a little better. An accent is ok, but being tangled up in the language is another thing. The good side is they do update the courses a lot, because things are changing so fast.
Top 5 udemy courses that work!

2)Online courses-most courses by the time they get to press (which on the internet can be very fast) our simply out of date by the time you actually get to dig into them. They haven't been tested in a while, and google is already making updates and changes before you can turn around.

3)College Courses-two months behind by the time the class is posted, registration and set up is completed and the instructor is standing before you. If most in the class are newbies, they won't even know after they've shelled out countless hundreds, that the course is outdated.
4) SEO specialists-not everyone knows what they are doing, but use the interent as their claim to fame in the SEO world.
5)books-press just takes to long these days, there are some good books on link building, and the mechanics of doing it, and by the time you get to that book, things have changed again.

What works..................
Here are the things that Ive found actually have some traffic swarming around them.

1)Youtube-people would much rather watch a video you've created than a blog or a page. Unless you can make those things as interactive as  possible, people would rather watch a real person. And every time your release a new video it goes to your subscribers list first, giving those folks a chance to see your stuff. A very good tool. You can also create a whole channel devoted to one subject instead of getting to diverse.
2)Blogger-its ease of use is a big thing. You can have a blog up and running in no time and it integrates with Adesne very easy. You can also insert code from a listing designer or HTML rather quickly.
3)Pinterest-is easy to use and generates a lot of traffic on the web. Its easy to build your pins and you can track how many people are actually sharing your pins, and Pinterest is for the visually minded, which that's what the internet has always been about.

4)Facebook-I get a huge a mount of traffic from Facebook. I can create pages and put posts on them, build fans, and do paid advertising to acquire those fans to my website. If your not on, get on!

5)Email marketing- Mail chimp reports that 22% of their emails get opened. 22% is a lot in today's busy world. Putting together great content for a qualified audience is one way to get people to your site and create traffic.

5 Ways to monetize your website!

It seems like an easy process. To add additions to your site, and make money from those things. And a lot of things promise big rewards but offer little. Here are some areas to discover to help you monetize your website and beyond.

1) Adsense-I usually earn a few hundred dollars per year form adsense. And I use my social media abilities to help generate traffic for my websites. I write related blogs that interest my audiences and the reciprocate by visiting my sites to get more content. Here are my sites (leefranksmarketing.com) (bransonisfun.com) and melodylanebranson.com. Please check those out if you get a chance.
2) Banners-companies want the opportunity to advertise exclusively on your site, and will pay big bucks to do that. You can either start a phone, email, fax, letter writing campaign for them to call you. Or you could create such riveting content that they come to you. Either ways its better if they come to you, you could name your price.
3)Sell items-adding a shopping cart has become very easy these days. And buying things a certain way to make money can be easy as well. With a paypal account and a shopping cart, and a little elbow grease this process is worth a go.
4)Youtube for Adsense-monetizing your youtube videos is very easy with an adsense account and worth a go. Start an adsense account get approved and then go over an open a youtube account. Make relevant content and see your revenue explode.

Top 2 things you can do now, with Linkedin right now to Skyrocket your business

I Like Linkedin.  I like the sleek landscape of LinkedIn, and the fact that you can connect specifically with people who are doing business. And could make good contacts. But beyond that if they don't add me to their profile, my request goes into outer space or a wormhole some where. But here is what I do, do! I got this idea from someone who liked one of my skills they day before an event I was going to, and just happened to realize I would see them there. In the stone ages you had the US mail and the rotary telephone. But the beauty of social networking is you can send people a note or a badge to get them excited about you. Here are the two steps to trailblaze your way to better networking.

1)Write down a list of events in your area that you know you are going to attend. Get a list of everyone who has RSVP'd and out of that list circle the ones that are in your immediate orbit. Someone you want to contact with or connect with, say hello, or inquire about a sales call with. As long as your selling something in your local market. Yourself, a product, rooms, or whatever it is your selling you need someone else to help you do that.
2) Go on linkedin and like a skill of theirs the day before you see them at the event. This will get you in their upper mind of awareness and may even get them to come to you. They will be a lot more receptive to come and talk to you and may even go and like a few of your skills. This technique also applies to facebook and pinterest and virtually every place else you go on the web to converse and sell people on YOU! Try it out and you won't go wrong. HAPPY SELLING!

Building an audience online that buys, buys, buys

Building an audience  is the way to create more customers these days. And one of the best places to do that is online. But the bridge or moat if you have it, is what seperates you from whatever it is you want to communicate, or create more customers. Selling, talking, or getting feedback from your customer base is a must these days. And customers have always voted with their dollars, and continue to do so even today. If your writing a blog, selling a product, or gathering Data for your next project, you have to assess and understand your audience. And the closer you get to understanding your customer and their needs, the better of your business will be. Follow these questions to figure out where to go next. 1) Who is your customer? Where do they live, what do they like, what do they eat? How many kids do they have? Where do they like to hang out? By studying what your customers, blog readers, demographic like to do, you'll get a fuller picture of what it is, they do and why they do it. 2)What time are they on facebook? And are they reading your comments, posts, pictures, etc? On your business page, click the inights tab at the top to learn when your audience is online the most. 3)Pre-schedule your posts, using the drop down menu in the right corner of your posts,to schedule the time when they are on facebook. 4) Collect and corelate your data?Facebook gives you a lot of great Data about what is going on with your customers. Blogger does as well, and any of the blogging websites. But most give you a variance of what is actually there. For the most part you have to put your own system together, and decide what's the best strategy to move forward. Try and take as many elements as you can to help you match the moods, timing, and temperature of your audience. Best of all have fun!

Blow up your business by starting a Facebook business page in 4 steps

Facebook is all the rage, and as it should be. Facebook has created a very nice niche of metrics available to their business accounts, that are hard to find for free.
Here are a few steps to help you blow up your facebook page.

Step 1
Set up your page, but first study your preffered niches. Go to google trends and look at whats popular. Does anything stick out at you that you like to do. If motorcycle maintenance, or hotel motel management. choose your niche and start a page. Begin to get pictures and different things in your head that you would like to start.
Step 2-begin setting up your page. Come up with a snappy title, and facebook will let you know through the add a page process, if the title your using is acceptable. "A lot of times they will go ahead and let you use it, and then you just put another name close to the one you want, as the way to contact you. The first page has about 6 boxes where they ask you what the page is for. A business, a company, a hobby, and on and on, pick the one that applies.
Step 3-Once you get the page started, Facebook will give you a tour of everything that is available to you. Go through the tour it is very enlightening.
Step 4-platform your page on your regular social account that has the most friends. USe the box on the left hand side to invite all of your friends. Your hand may get tired, but keep at it. Switch hands if you have to.

HOW TO GET STARTED MAKING SERIOUS CASH ON EBAY PART 2-Finding your Niche

In our last article Part 1 we discussed the key components to getting on the way to making some serious cash-ola on ebay. To get started I listed a few things that are musts to get going. But the main one was inventory. You've got to discover what you niche is and how to exploit that niche. And everything about it. My origional Niche actually was video.
So What needs to happen to get you to learn about your niche, and the market that it is sold in. Here are some ideas.
1)join the club-what do the members of this Niche do? 2)Where do they buy their items for the Niche at?3)Who belongs to this club and why? 4)How many sub Niches are there? 5)How much money do they spend?

On your inventory side-1)Where can you buy the items in this niche?2)How can you buy it wholesale and sell it retail? 3)How hard is it to ship it? 4)And what problems would you have with delivery? 5)What is the best shipping service to use for this item? UPS,USPS,Fedex, and what other shippers are available.
6)Do the items go in and out of popularity?(This up your risk factor)7)Do many business in your area go in and out, so you can virtually buy distress inventory?
These are just a few ideas, to help you along in discovering your Niche. In our next article we will discuss what to do once, you've figured out what you are going to sell.

HOW TO GET STARTED MAKING SERIOUS CASH ON EBAY! Part 1

I've been doing business digitaly since 2004, when Ebay and our friend the internet were really beginning to take off. Ebay was a new source of income, and taught me that there were some basic components, that you could string together and make a pretty nice living. I'm going to list my first steps to getting started on ebay, and then in later articles I will get to some more advanced aspects of marketing, blogging, and  making money on the internet.
A friend approached me and mentioned that they were making money on ebay. I'd dabbled with it in 2001 and bought some Randy Couture instructional video tapes, and remembered that it took the seller forever to mail the bootlegged videos that I'd bought. (more on bootlegs later) And I thought wow, here's system where you can make a little money. I didn't percieve at the time that there could be a lot of money involved, but thought it might be worth a look. Here's what I used to get started, and I'll show you how things have changed since I started.

1. A digital Camera -ebay seems to be limiting use of your phone to upload pictures or are requiring a hight level of pictures. When I started ebay would almost accept anything, man that has changed today.
2.A computer and a printer-the printer was for shipping labels from paypal and the computer was for listings.
3. Shipping supplies-tape, mail bags, adhesive, printing paper
4. Inventory-the most improtant of all ingredients. This could help you sell across multiple platforms. At the time I did Ebay and Amazon, and both were different in some ways, and in future articles I'll discuss that.

In the good ole days, it was easy, you would list items, and check your metrics to see how many watchers you had, and things would sell in and out, and you would contrast your bottom end with how much money you had invested. The first few months, you will sell things laying around the house and in the garage. So you Overhead is much lower. After you run through all of that you will begin to acquire inventory that moves for you, based on what you had laying around the house. Where you can find stuff, and what's available in your market. I call this a Retail Poacher, because you can thrive off of stores in your local area having sales, and going out of busines. Because of your low overhead, you can acquire this inventory very cheap. But once its gone, its gone.
In the good ole days, you could sell CD's in bulk, as I have one listed to the left here. I did this a lot, looking for rare CD's and getting them at a good price and then turning them over to ebay. I would research very rare artists, find what items people were looking for and then post them, and sell them for a nice profit.
Magazines were a good market for me as well. I would find very rare magazines and sell them for $19.95, if it didn't work at that price I would drop say 20% based on what the market would tell me. Plus I always loved magazines so going out and looking for them was a lot of fun.
These are just a couple of items that I used to great affect. So follow the four steps above to get started, and follow over to my next blog which is a part 2 to this series. If you haven't done part 1, get these things ready and go to part 2.
